How did the 370 Shuttle come to be?
Motivated by our goal of producing a small power catamaran that would live up to its design specifications and reach a speed of 40 knots, we realised that to do this we would have to control the design, engineering and the physical construction of such a boat.
Friends and fellow engineers Dick Churley and Baren Smit joined forces with their backgrounds in Mechanical - Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering and their many years of practical experience in the marine, mining and manufacturing industries.
Concept designs languished during the Covid-19 lockdown years but were ready and waiting when a former client in the Caribbean enquired about a fast and comfortable small ferry for transferring his yacht charter guests from island to island.
The 370 Shuttle was customised for this purpose and the first boat in a series launched at the end of August 2024.
